Estrela Foundation

Estrela Foundation is founded by Angad Singh Bilochpura and has initiatives and projects in various sections of society. To mention a few are scholarships for the underprivileged students aimed at school as well as undergraduate courses, ongoing projects towards the visually impaired, weekly football & dance coaching for the orphanages & mentally challenged homes, monthly birthday celebrations, nutrition support, etc. Mentioned in detail below.

Bilochpura Family is immensely philanthropic and donates a significant chunk of its annual profits towards different charitable organizations as well as the team. The family is set to donate a minimum of 10% of its profits to society by next year, inspired by the Sikh principle of Dasvanth. A few of the events and programs supported are as below:

Project Achievers – Juniors 500 Scholarships Program

We believe in giving equal opportunity to the underprivileged sections of society and thus have the 500 Scholarships Program. Under this we provide scholarships for school education to deserving students from unprivileged backgrounds such as low-income households, BPL families, single-parent households, etc.

This initiative is almost a decade old and will reach its goal of 500 Scholarships shortly. The only ask from the beneficiaries is to study hard and help someone deserving in their own capacity.

Project Achievers – 500 Undergraduate Scholarship Program

We believe in giving equal opportunity to the underprivileged sections of society, thus this project is focused on higher education courses. This initiative is also a decade old and will reach its goal of 500 Scholarships shortly. Just like the school scholarship program, the only ask from the beneficiaries is to study hard and help someone deserving in their own capacity.

Mission: Vision

Estrela Foundation’s Mission: Vision is aimed at empowering the visually challenged, in order to enable them to lead a life with self-reliance and dignity. Under this initiative, Estrela Foundation has been serving the visually challenged in many ways from sponsoring teachers and resource persons on a full-time basis to rations.

Estrela Foundation has also been involved in conducting vocational programs for the visually impaired like a telephone operator, masseur training, and computer training with the help of audio software, android workshops, etc.

As a result, Estrela Foundation has employed many visually impaired personnel, in the designations of telephone operators, computer data entry operators, masseurs, etc.

1000 Birthdays Initiative

Estrela Foundation celebrates the birthdays of the children, who are part of various orphanages on a monthly basis. The celebrations have a birthday cake, snacks/meal, games, birthday gifts, etc to make them feel happy and loved

The thought behind this is to give these children something to look forward to in their birthday month. Estrela Foundation has already celebrated 600+ Birthdays since 2014 and is on track to achieve 1000 birthdays in the next 2 years.

Independence Initiative -Vocational & Skill Development

This initiative is aimed at teaching vocational courses to underprivileged youth, differently abled as well as women. We not just provide resource persons for such training but also equipment like industrial capacity incense stick-making machines, candle-making equipment, etc.

As a result of this initiative, the beneficiaries have been able to make quality products that can be sold and sustained. The focus is to make quality products that are bought for their quality and not charity.

Football for Change Initiative- Weekly Classes

While we realize education is critical in shaping the exposure of students, while at the same time, sports are also a significant element of their growth and nourishment. Thus, Estrela Foundation supports weekly classes for underprivileged children and youth. These classes happen at the campus of the homes. In order to deliver age and skill-relevant training, the classes as divided per age group. The youngest players are part of the Juniors Team, the little older ones are a part of the YA (Young Adults Team) and the oldest players are part of the Seniors Team.

Feel The Beat-Dance Classes for the Underprivileged & Mentally Challenged Children

Dance is an instrument of expression and communication. Estrela Foundation sponsors weekly dance classes for mentally challenged boys and girls. As a result of these classes, the children have seen improved energy & concentration. These classes are a source of immense joy & happiness for the children, instructor as well as foundation.

Mental Health Initiative

Mental health is often ignored and at times given the last importance. However, a mental illness should be treated as casually or cautiously as one would treat a physical illness. Thus, Estrela Foundation supports various mental health NGOs in their projects like Mental Health Film Festivals, Mental Health Awareness weeks, etc.

Computer Literacy Project

This was started with a focus on imparting computer education to the underprivileged sections who normally don’t have access to it. Under this project, the youth are taught an introductory as well as an intermediate course on computers.

The Wish Tree Initiative

Estrela Foundation has created a tree with wishes hanging out of the branches. These wishes are of children from shelter homes, orphanages, etc. It’s heartening to see some children wishing for a bucket with a tumbler, while few wishing for a remote-controlled car. However, it is a sheer pleasure & delights to watch these children receive & unveil their wishes. This is an ongoing initiative in which our well-wishers, staff, and guests love to contribute to.

Equal Footing Initiative

Estrela Foundation Believes in not just advocating an equal footing for the differently abled but also walking the talk. Estrela Foundation has created employment opportunities and successfully employed Visually impaired, Deaf & Mute, Physically Challenged, etc individuals. These individuals have job profiles like computer data entry operator, telephone attendant, maintenance, reservations, computer lab assistant, masseurs, etc.

These individuals are supported and employed in a way that makes them feel equal and enables them to earn their living with dignity and respect.

Law of Attraction Initiative

The concept of the Law of attraction has been very close to the Foundation and the team. The law of attraction, simply put is-our thoughts attract circumstances and situations in our lives, or like attracts like. Estrela Foundation has conducted simplified workshops with groups like orphanages, shelter homes, NGOs, special educators, support staff of these homes, etc. To date, Estrela Foundation has conducted it for 1000+ participants and counting. These are conducted by trained & qualified resource persons.

The Happiness Initiative
